The intricate lady and dog design on this bead was carefully applied using the slip trailing method. The basic design is first laid out freehand using a pencil. Then the white porcelain is meticulously applied with a fine tipped brush. To create the shading and folds in the gown multiple thin layers of white porcelain are applied. For more information on this process refer to my tutorial here: Wedgwood Tutorial This lovely bead is a large hole bead suitable for use with fibers or braids. The bead is 23mm tall by 17mm wide with a 4mm hole.

Given 2009-09-12
Lady and Dog Wedgwood Bead by ~nativeart. A Wedgwood-style large-hole bead designed by hand applying layers of white porcelain slip with a brush on a white bead which makes it difficult and tedious to do because the contrast of the blue does not come out until after the bead is fired. 23mm by 17mm (7/8" by 11/16") and a 4mm hole. I remember this, I faved it along time ago. It's so awesome! XD I love miniature replicas obviously, considering my miniature swords. It would be so cool if I could make a DD with them some day! o-O

It was a total surprise for me let me tell you. I was overwhelmed with :+fav:s on it and messages. I was away at a show when it went live and by the time I got home I had over 1500 messages. It was really pretty exciting and amazing.
