This Mushroom Scene pendant is another of my extreme porcelain pendants/charms.

The little scene inside is all hand built and hand painted porcelain. Each tiny piece is hand sculpted and then carefully added to the scene. It is built inside a cast porcelain case. It is then fired to over 2000F. It is then glazed and again fired to 2000F. After the glaze firing the details like the spots on the ladybug and the shading under the mushroom are hand painted using china paints and it is again fired to around 750C. Then I paint my name on the back and fire it again. Finally a piece of glass was cut and glued onto the top to protect the fragile scene. The edges of the glass were then beveled to exactly match the case of the charm and to provide a smooth rounded edge.

The completed charm is just 27mm X 15mm wide. It fits on my thumbnail perfectly, although my nails aren't that long, and I have pretty small hands. There is a hole through the top edge of the piece for hanging/stringing onto your necklace.
